Tarot Forecast – Aug 20-26, 2018

I have been channeling the Hermit quite a lot this summer. These eclipses have triggered so much within me that I haven’t really known up from down. More on that later 😉
But even with all of that, I have been working on things. Have you ever experienced a sudden and bright moment of clarity that almost seems to give you tunnel vision? I have been having those moments left and right it seems.
This week’s tarot reading resonated with me so hard this week in reference to those moments.
I even felt called to make a little change in our deck finally! A wonderful friend gifted me quite a few of his decks in the past few weeks. The traditional Rider-Waite has been gently calling my name since that time, but today I swore it yelled at me. A small push to my senses and I was upstairs pulling it from my altar.

1. What energy do we need to channel this week?

Reversed Three of Wands
A bright, shining note that our struggles should be coming to the end. Expansion, Enterprise, and Preparation all driven by foresight. Everything is progressing as it should due to your careful planning.

2. What do we need to watch out for?

Queen of Cups
The Queen is ruled by her heart rather than her head. With everything we are working towards, we must not lose sight of rational thought. As we move closer to the full moon, our emotional state is much higher. Our receptivity and intuition grows and with that, we become more responsive to the needs of those around us. We must remain actively aware of our boundaries. In order to remain focused on our creative pursuits, we must choose who and what receives our attention.

3. How can we overcome challenges?

Reversed Eight of Pentacles
Our attention to detail can begin to get in the way. We lose sight of the forest through the trees. This meticulous attention can stall your energy out and cause you to focus on making it “perfect” – which nothing will ever be. Take a step back and remember to keep at least one eye on your larger picture.

SSBC (super secret bottom card)

Five of Cups
The gentleman in the card is entirely focused on the split cups before him that he ignores what he has remaining. While our past can be painful, we must be in this present moment. Allow yourself to forgive and use your past as a learning tool. Hindsight is clearer than foresight. We cannot lose sight of the lessons we have learned to get us to this space. This also brings me to think of the concept of “half full or half empty”. Where do you consider your cup? Does that impact how you view your past and future? How does that impact how you act on opportunities?
Stay strong, positive, and self confident this week, mavens! Allow your past to inform your present, but do not let it steer for you. You can and will overcome. Dream big, be bold, act!

All my love,

Kat

Tarot Forecast – Aug 6 – 12

Hello loves! I swear that other posts from us are coming soon. This summer has just been rough. We have all retreated and been spending more and more time on our own. These eclipses have triggered some deep inner work that, with the demands on the day to day, has just taken all of our emotional energy out of us. Soon though! And if you have any special requests, always feel free to reach out.
This week’s reading had an incredibly clear message: “Trust and move towards your intentions”

1. What energy do we need to channel this week? Reversed Hermit
Listen to your inner voice. There are two messages that come with the hermit – either we need to make that time one of deep spiritual work and listening to Self or we may be spending too much time in this space.
Take a moment to reflect where you are falling on this spectrum. Time on my own has put a lot of things in perspective for me. I have been much more intentional about who gets my time outside of work and home. I have large projects I am working on and it takes all of my inner strength to not allow my anxiety and impostor syndrome issues to derail me.
2. What do we need to look out for? Reversed Priest [Heirophant]
As we walk our path we must maintain and openness and understanding to others practices. We have all encountered those that cannot open their hearts to understand others. Reflect on your own words and guidance – do not impose your own practices or beliefs on others that do not expressly ask for it. Also, set boundaries for those that attempt to impose their path on you.
3. How can we overcome challenges? The Chariot
You control your path. Clarify your intentions, make a plan, gather resources and go. Take your time as a hermit to get clarity on what it is you want and need and how to accomplish it. Do not allow the perspectives of others to shake you from your path.
SSBC * Reversed King of Cups
Do not let your inclination towards reconciliation compromise your values
Take greater control and responsibility for your current emotional state. Who is being toxic in your life? Where and who do you need boundaries with? Is your behavior the issue at hand?
Is there anything in particular that comes to mind with this reading?  I know this message rang loud and clear for me on what I need to focus on.  My energy has been feeling motivated, but scattered.

Tarot Forecast – 07.09-07.14.2018

Hello my loves! I feel like all I post these days are tarot forecasts… I swear I am working on other content and getting myself reorganized. I am also working on getting some other contributors on here to showcase a wider range of practice and perspective!
But, that takes time and effort and to be honest, June was not kind to me. I feel like I am still recovering and my 9-5 is sucking the life out of me, haha.
I will survive! Just another week or two and things will get back to normal and I can feel more on top of my passions and actually commit more energy to them.
Which! If you have been following any astrology readings for the week (Jess from BehatiLife is always my favorite), this week is full of awesome transits. I didn’t even have a chance to watch some of these astroforecasts until this afternoon and it was so affirming to the energy I pulled from the cards and how I was feeling today.
So, what the heck is going on.

1. What energy do we need to channel this week? The Priest
We must renew our dedication and committment to practice. The time and attention we place in our sacred space and practice allows us to remain grounded. These habits will sustain us through moments in which we may question ourselves and our path.
2. What must we look out for this week? Reversed High Priestess
We will likely come across something this week that causes us to question our inner voice. We will be experiencing a huge expansion of things as Jupiter goes direct, so as everything rushes to us, we may be worried about pursing the “right” thing. I know I have already faced new options and opportunities this week and they caused me a slight twinge of imbalance. Refocusing on my practice, my values, and what I want my life too look like gives me the assistance I need to select the “proper” path.
3. How can we overcome challenges? The Ace of Cups
Maintaining an outlook of positivity and possibility will help you move through these weaker moments. You may feel overwhelmed by everything coming at you. But because we are focusing on intentional, meaningful practice, we can trust that our soul purpose will present itself.
SuperSecretBottomCard Reversed six of cups
While we all need more fun in our life, too much can cause us too lose focus on our higher goals. It is easy to get swept up in the moment and opportunity without looking at how this impacts our overall goals. Our responsibilities still need to be addressed, so working on finding the balance that works for you should go hand in hand with developing your practice.
Are you feeling like any new doors have opened for you this week? Are you excited about them or are you finding yourself off center and overwhelmed?

New Moon in Taurus Ritual

I feel as if I’ve been walking through a gray cloud of fog and mist these last few weeks. Even with Aries pushing me along to create and do, it’s as if I’ve only been half awake through that process. This week has been the first in a long time where I have awoken with a clear mind and at ease spirit.
I felt called to share with you my ritual for this cycle. At the end, I felt as if I could truly stand tall, claim my space, and move forward.
Working with Taurus was quite interesting. Now I know I’m about a day late or so in sharing this, but I had no real plan for my ritual work this week. It just… happened! I have been wanting to do more natal chart work and this seemed to beckon me in as the perfect opportunity to start. Taurus is my Rising sign and having been struggling with my anxiety the last few weeks, working on my Self was an absolute must.
What you’ll need:
Journal/notebook & pen/pencil
4 candles*

Purple – inner healing and personal power

White – release, calming, grounding

Green – prosperity

Red – manifest

*if you have pre-designated candles in other colors, please feel free to use those. We all connect with colors differently.

Dried bay leaves
Cauldron or fire-safe bowl
***
Let’s begin.
Set your Sacred space however you see fit. Some may feel called to cast a circle, call in the elements or any spirits or deities. This is entirely up to you and how you will feel ready to work.
Taurus rules “I Have”. We must address our relationships, our need for things, our health, everything that we have in this physical world and how it impacts us.
In your journal, you’ll work on two sets of questions. Take as much time as you need. As always, it is important that we be honest with ourselves. Do not edit yourself, do not worry for another’s feelings. Let it all flow out of you onto the page.

1. What relationship(s) always leave me feeling drained?

2. What commitments do I have that I view only as obligation and have no emotional investment in?

3. What habits do I keep that undermine my ability to commit to the lifestyle I want?

4. What thoughts do I have about myself that are toxic? [What do you say about yourself that you would never say to a loved one?

When you feel ready, take a few small pieces of paper and write down some overall themes you came across in your writing.
Now that we’ve addressed the less positive side of “I Have”, we’ll take a look into its counterpart.

1. What relationships do I truly value? How can I foster a deeper connection with these individuals?

2. Is it possible to remove myself from commitments I have no real passion for? If not, is there any part of this obligation that you enjoy? No moment is too small. How can I encourage more of the moments I enjoy?

3. What always brings me joy? How can I incorporate that more into my lifestyle?

4. What do I value and love most about myself?

When you feel ready, write down some of the overall themes you came across in this second section on the bay leaves.
Place the four candles in a circle around your cauldron.

White, place in the direction of West..

Purple, place in the direction of North.

Red, place in the direction of East.

Green, place in the direction of South.

Light the White and Purple Candle. Say the following 3 times while burning your small paper in the cauldron.
Accepting of Self, I am embracing who I Am and my Path fully. I release myself from all preconceived expectations and unhealthy relationships and habits.
Light the Red and Green candles. Say the following 3 times while burning your bay leaves.
I am Capable. I am Worthy of Love and Affection from my Self and others. I call in abundance to my loved ones and my Self to care for all our needs.
Rest for a few moments. Enjoy the moment and allow yourself to breathe. You could take this time to meditate on any words that stuck out to you.
By my breath, I release my intentions for inner healing and acceptance into divine space.
Blow out your candles and rest. Complete the day/evening however feels best for you to care for yourself. I took a nice warm shower and read before bed.
***
Please let me know how you felt called to work with the new moon this cycle. I am feeling so inspired and grounded. I cannot wait to share with you what is to come – my alignment hasn’t yet felt this strong.

Everyday Witchcraft – Coloring Books

For those of us that may be doing one, all, or none of the following:
A) hiding our craft,
b) have a small altar space,
c) have a space where fresh flowers or other plants are not a feasible option,
d) feel drawn to elements or geography that is not reasonably within reach regularly or
e) just because you can!
How have I not touched on the magickalness and potential of coloring books in your craft.
Pinterest - EW - Coloring Books
That’s right. Coloring books.
I love using coloring books in my craft. I pop finished pages or one’s I want to use for specific purpose right along side tarot readings or other messages in my grimoire. Working with them in an intentional, meditative practice gives them so much focused power.
The imagery is endless. While I used to be an alright doodler, I have been so out of touch with my artistic self that I have been genuinely afraid of working in my grimoire or just… doing witchwork in general. I got caught up in this idea of what it was “supposed to look like”, based on the beautiful works from others that I follow. Coloring books take that fear right out of me. For those of us that cannot create beautiful imagery from scratch on our own we now have a creative outlet to build upon. No two pages will look the same or hold the same meaning.
Also – for those of you hiding – no one suspects a coloring book. It’s pretty. It’s just self care. You “just enjoying coloring” if anyone questions you.
So, here are are a few ideas for how to incorporate them into your own practice!

  1. Use whole pages as dedications to deities, spirits, your own divine connections.
  2. Use them in meditative practice to pour your intention out on the page with color correspondences if you can’t find the right words for what you need.
  3. Cut out planetary-based images to focus any energy you may be drawing down from a an astrological working. Pop it into your grimoire, or carry it with you in a planner or pocket to keep it with you.
  4. On hand flower petals. We’ve all seen those beautiful ceremonial flower rings on instagram. This is great if you do not have the ability to get fresh flowers but want them represented on your altar or in your working.

I’ve linked a massive color correspondence list I’ve seen floating around the tumblrsphere here.
For those of you that may need a little help narrowing things down. I pulled together a quick list of books that caught my eye in Barnes & Noble. Obviously this is not going to encompass everything, but I think it covers enough of the major areas to get you rolling.
Grayscale Landscapes
Lost Ocean
Mermaids
Enchanted Forests
Enchanted Magical Forests
Myth & Magic
Fairies & Angels
Celtic Mandalas
Flower Mandalas
Celestial Mandalas
What is your favorite “everyday” item that you love incorporating into your practice?
