May 2018 Full Moon in Sagittarius

I won’t lie. I was a little worried about the emotional rollercoaster this full moon was going to have me riding this week. But, after looking into the moon and all the work I did on the new moon. I’m hoping this moon will be kind to you as well!
This full moon in Sagittarius calls us to look at our life from a 10’000 foot view. If you read my tarot forecast for the week, you would know that our Super Secret Bottom Card for this week was the Hermit.
Getting clarity on our personal values, principles, morals and overall lifestyle (as it is presently and how we want it to look) is key this week.
After the questions I posed in our new moon ritual, I feel like we have kind of already done most of that work! Now, it our chance to pause and recognize what we have fully committed to, what is feasible in our lives at the moment, and what is just not currently possible to integrate into our lives.
This full moon ritual is going to be pretty relaxed. While Sagittarius wants to try all of the things and be adventurous – this evening can be a moment of rest. You can do and try all you want in the morning.
***
What you’ll need:
One white candle
Your journal/grimoire/BOS
Yep. you read that. Just one white candle and whatever it is you do your work in. Rituals can be incredibly simple and still pack a punch.
Get into your sacred space. Get comfortable and take the time to do a grounding meditation or your preferred practice.
Light the white candle and focus on the things listed above:
What have you fully committed to bringing into your life this cycle?
Has it been working? Why or why not?
If why not, is it something that you just cannot feasibly commit to right now?
Remember – you don’t need to do all of the things all at the same time. Maybe there are changes you want to bring into your life that require a little more preparation, other foundational habits, or just more of you to focus on it.
Once you get a clear idea of what is and isn’t working for you – focus on releasing yourself of any inner obligation or expectation to remain held to what is not working.
Push all of that energy and emotional tie into the candle. Let yourself fill with warmth from head to foot as you release it. When you feel ready, fully release it into the universe by blowing out the candle.
Gently close your space however you see fit.
***
I hope that by releasing the habits and things that just are not working you find yourself opened to fully committing to what is working for you! Perhaps this will give you some more time and energy to expand and try something new.
As always, I love hearing from you! Especially when using these workings – I’d love to know if they work for you!
All my love!

New Moon in Taurus Ritual

I feel as if I’ve been walking through a gray cloud of fog and mist these last few weeks. Even with Aries pushing me along to create and do, it’s as if I’ve only been half awake through that process. This week has been the first in a long time where I have awoken with a clear mind and at ease spirit.
I felt called to share with you my ritual for this cycle. At the end, I felt as if I could truly stand tall, claim my space, and move forward.
Working with Taurus was quite interesting. Now I know I’m about a day late or so in sharing this, but I had no real plan for my ritual work this week. It just… happened! I have been wanting to do more natal chart work and this seemed to beckon me in as the perfect opportunity to start. Taurus is my Rising sign and having been struggling with my anxiety the last few weeks, working on my Self was an absolute must.
What you’ll need:
Journal/notebook & pen/pencil
4 candles*

Purple – inner healing and personal power

White – release, calming, grounding

Green – prosperity

Red – manifest

*if you have pre-designated candles in other colors, please feel free to use those. We all connect with colors differently.

Dried bay leaves
Cauldron or fire-safe bowl
***
Let’s begin.
Set your Sacred space however you see fit. Some may feel called to cast a circle, call in the elements or any spirits or deities. This is entirely up to you and how you will feel ready to work.
Taurus rules “I Have”. We must address our relationships, our need for things, our health, everything that we have in this physical world and how it impacts us.
In your journal, you’ll work on two sets of questions. Take as much time as you need. As always, it is important that we be honest with ourselves. Do not edit yourself, do not worry for another’s feelings. Let it all flow out of you onto the page.

1. What relationship(s) always leave me feeling drained?

2. What commitments do I have that I view only as obligation and have no emotional investment in?

3. What habits do I keep that undermine my ability to commit to the lifestyle I want?

4. What thoughts do I have about myself that are toxic? [What do you say about yourself that you would never say to a loved one?

When you feel ready, take a few small pieces of paper and write down some overall themes you came across in your writing.
Now that we’ve addressed the less positive side of “I Have”, we’ll take a look into its counterpart.

1. What relationships do I truly value? How can I foster a deeper connection with these individuals?

2. Is it possible to remove myself from commitments I have no real passion for? If not, is there any part of this obligation that you enjoy? No moment is too small. How can I encourage more of the moments I enjoy?

3. What always brings me joy? How can I incorporate that more into my lifestyle?

4. What do I value and love most about myself?

When you feel ready, write down some of the overall themes you came across in this second section on the bay leaves.
Place the four candles in a circle around your cauldron.

White, place in the direction of West..

Purple, place in the direction of North.

Red, place in the direction of East.

Green, place in the direction of South.

Light the White and Purple Candle. Say the following 3 times while burning your small paper in the cauldron.
Accepting of Self, I am embracing who I Am and my Path fully. I release myself from all preconceived expectations and unhealthy relationships and habits.
Light the Red and Green candles. Say the following 3 times while burning your bay leaves.
I am Capable. I am Worthy of Love and Affection from my Self and others. I call in abundance to my loved ones and my Self to care for all our needs.
Rest for a few moments. Enjoy the moment and allow yourself to breathe. You could take this time to meditate on any words that stuck out to you.
By my breath, I release my intentions for inner healing and acceptance into divine space.
Blow out your candles and rest. Complete the day/evening however feels best for you to care for yourself. I took a nice warm shower and read before bed.

Please let me know how you felt called to work with the new moon this cycle. I am feeling so inspired and grounded. I cannot wait to share with you what is to come – my alignment hasn’t yet felt this strong.

My [Simple] Full Moon Ritual

Someone asked me today if I had a simple full moon ritual that they could use to reenergize. I’m sure I’ve mentioned this before, but for the sake of clarity – my rituals are not that intense. I’m always trying to find ways to bring more magick into my everyday routine, but I like to keep the fuss out of my practice right now. I focus on the fundamentals, on how it feels. I try not on what I think it’s supposed to look like. Every witch has her way.
Simple Full Moon Ritual
I like to use full moons as a quiet moment for myself. It’s a moment for me to lock myself away from the demands of everyday life and refocus. You can stop wherever you wish during this timeline.  This is my full evening after caring for my family and taking some time to unwind. I still manage to be in bed by 9pm.
Optional Supplies:

  • Candles
  • Incense
  • Sage Bundle for smoke cleansing
  • Pen & paper

Step 1 – Tidy up your home or your space. At least handle the major things so that your brain isn’t in overdrive thinking about everything you “need to get done”.
Step 2 – Smoke or salt cleanse your space. Open the windows and really get that fresh air and energy in.
Step 3 – Cleanse yourself. Shower, bath, whatever you prefer. Take the time to let your body relax and get into a space of calm.  I usually do a calming affirmation during my body cleanse. You can find some of my favorite affirmations here.
Step 4 – Minimum five minutes of meditation. There are some great playlists out there. I prefer to listen to soft instrumental music to help me through my meditations. Find one that you resonate with that does not pull your mind from concentrating on your breath.

Step 5 – There are options here depending on whether you are focused on manifesting or releasing. You can do both if you would like:

  1. Journal your intentions or what you would like to manifest into your life. Keep it very definitive and descriptive. Use “I am”, “This is” statements as if it is already true. Don’t give your magickal energy the chance to mess around and take forever to bring your manifestation to fruition.
  2. Focus on something that has you feeling “stuck”.  Dive into an emotion you have been feeling a lot of lately and why it has stuck with you.  How is it affecting you? I prefer to use the “stream of consciousness” method when doing this.  I try not to edit my thoughts or feelings – just let it all flow out of you. It doesn’t need to make sense or have proper grammar or spelling. Just let it out. It may get ugly and you may cry, but that is OKAY!  Allow yourself to feel it.

Step 6 – Depending on what you did in step 5, you will finalize your manifestation or release:

  1. Manifesting – Take your manifestations and fold them up. Focus on the positive energy you’ve put into them and really hold your intentions in your mind. Place your manifestations into a place that brings you happiness but that you will not disturb.  I have mine in a little glass box on my altar. I don’t touch it unless I’m adding to it or felt that I have manifested what I initially called. Light a candle and take a moment of silence to settle into that wonderful motivating feeling.
  2. Releasing – Take all of that emotional word-vomit you just laid down and rip it up. and then, light it on fire. Why do you think lighting your ex’s stuff seemed so appealing?  Let. That. Shit. Go.

And that’s it!  Once you feel you’ve really nailed down your manifestation or just taken the time to let go of whatever has its hold on you, take a moment of quiet and go to bed! Sleep is important. Let things be.
What is your full moon ritual?  Do you find yourself doing more or less than mine?

New Moon – September 2017

The world around us is slowly shifting. The air is developing that bite that cleanses you to your core. The leaves seeking to be bright like the sun, no longer reflecting the lush grass below them. We will begin turning inwards, searching for intimacy with ourselves and our families.

The coming moons will mark a time of serious reflection and self growth.

Pinterest - New Moon Sept 2017
The upcoming new moon is one step in this transitional time. It will be the first new moon since the eclipse. It’s important to remember what course we set for ourselves and harness that residual energy.
I like to take into account the astrological influence I will face in the coming weeks.

With the new moon on September 20th, we will face some challenges that truly shake us and make us face some painful wounds. We may have to make some changes to our original goal. If we can face our pain, be flexible and adapt, we can overcome.

The full moon marks the peak in this cycle. Here, we will need to be strong in our boundaries, moving away from those that bring us down or seek to manipulate us for their own gain. Our initial focus on flexibility and adaptation must follow us all through this cycle. Do not allow yourself to be self-sacrificing to appease another. Care for yourself.

Thank you, AstrologyKing & DarkAstrology

My rituals are always centered around tarot. For me, it is an incredible tool for growth and understanding.  I have a horrible tendency to compartmentalize and bury things away.
Once you can identify the source of your pain, whether it be a person or event, let yourself feel it.
Don’t bury it back down and pretend you aren’t hurt. Don’t just wish it away. By letting yourself acknowledge every part of your pain (even at the most irrational level), you are already take steps to accept it and move past it. I usually journal on what comes through in my readings.  It forces me to face my feelings instead of rationalizing everything away with that habit of mine.
Once I’ve stopped my emotional ranting at my defenseless notebook, when I feel I truly have nothing left to give, my questions always delve down into actionable tasks or intentions I should hold.
Those actions or intentions will go into my planner. I am still developing certain aspects of my craft. Sheduling certain tasks or making myself daily reminders gives me that “every day witch” feeling.  I am always on my path and journey – not just when I am in the safety of my own home.
What are your favorite tools to incorporate into your moon rituals? How do you connect with the cosmos and let them guide you?

Preparing for the Full Corn Moon

I love the moon.  I’ve always thought she was beautiful and I could stare at her all evening.  When I began my path I immediately gravitated towards her.  She is such a stable body in which to center your spiritual being on.
The Harvest Moon typically falls in September, but this year it will rise in October.  The Harvest Moon is always the full moon closest to the autumn equinox (Mabon).
So this month’s moon falls back to other traditional names – the Full Corn Moon or the Barley Moon.  Either way, this moon marks the end of fire season.  We’ll soon be surrounded by snow and cold and be forced to look inward to channel the energy we seek.
The August eclipse really threw us into a time of significant change and how we capitalized on that energy is going to face some challenges.  AstrologyKing has a great comprehensive breakdown of all the astrological craziness that we’re going to be feeling.
Pinterest - Prep for the Full Corn Moon 2017
With all of that in mind, We’re going to need some preparation for the second half of this cycle. My full moon activities are rarely scheduled.  I tend to fall into whatever “feels right” in the moment  – even if that means I only charge up my crystals and head to bed early.  This full moon ritual will be no different as I am making it a full week of prep.

Here is the plan:

  • Get Organized.

I have been clouded lately and have had a difficult time re-centering and taking control of what needs to be done.  Now is the time to hustle, to deal with things, so they do not spiral. I’ve got big plans for the end of the month, this is no time to let crazy moon drama get in my way.

  • Practice patience and self-care.

If you read my guidance from the August tarot challenge, there were a lot of not-so-subtle hints to get back to the things I love and to care for myself. So I’m going to start off strong with getting back to my workout routine and healthy eating. I always feel better when I’m working out – physically, mentally, and spiritually. Making this a strict part of my routine will
help me navigate potential negative situations or overcome challenging ones much more quickly.

Night Of:

  • Ritual bath to clear away any negative energies built up from the week to face things with a fresh clear mind
  • Tarot and candle work to build up some positive energy and do some serious soul searching on some opportunities that have come up.

How do you plan on facing and preparing for the end of this cycle?  Are there specific rituals you practice on every full moon or are you a bit more of a “wing-it” witch like me?
Love & Light, Mavens!
